LIDO DI VENEZIA, OGGI E NELLA STORIA
(Venice Lido, today and in the history)

Lido di Venezia It is a volume of 480 pages containing nearly a thousand images in a good part of the whole novel, published in July 2007 in 5,000 copies. It is basically a historical guide - the only years to have been produced - completely original as its content is presented. Believed that every tourist who comes to the Lido (the text is bilingual, Italian and English) is extended to search the main existing facilities (and these are also the nostalgic memory of someone who was born in the island, ol'ha often frequent, and then he left and moved elsewhere), each of which is presented in each of the ten areas in which the territory was divided by St. Nicholas Alberoni:
- with an initial center-spread as it is at present, with the current features and the indication to be able to visit whenever possible;
- with a center-spread after describing the situation at its beginning;
- with more full pages showing what was in that place going back in time until we get to the situation documented in previous centuries.

ISLANDS OF THE VENETIAN LAGOON

Isole della Laguna This is the fourth book in the series "Guide fotografiche aeree" (Aerial Photography Guides). The pictures were mainly taken from airplanes and helicopters. This enables an overall view of the sites that is generally impossible with traditional photography from the ground. The comment to each individual image is, instead, for the most part, drawn from web sites, creating a computerized anthology that provides more widespread consultation and greater user information. The idea of conceiving this new type of territorial guide derives from the consideration that the tour guides currently available offer images which are not very meaningful in describing the sites.
Likewise, books of photographs are a collection of images which are often truly splendid but which are not greatly related to the territory.In brief, the book provides a geographic/photographic map with the most meaningful information and, thanks to the internet, in a form which allows for practically unlimited consultation. Arturo Colamussi Engineer, Freelance Professor at the Department of Engineering, University of Bologna, has long cooperated in the research and development of various solutions for protecting the historic centers of the Venetian Lagoon from high waters. A long-time flying enthusiast, he holds numerous aeronautical licences. For several years now he has made a great commitment to the production of a series of aerial photography guides based on an original concept. The first work was "Il Delta del Po" on the Po River Delta, followed by "Molise" while, the more recent "Isole della Laguna di Venezia" on the Islands in the Venetian Lagoon is an homage to a beloved, long suffering territory.

Il Lido è la località balneare meno affollata dell'Alto Adriatico. Se in passato era frequentata dalla nobiltà europea, oggi è l'ideale meta turistica per chi vuole abbinare il turismo culturale a una rilassante vacanza al mare.
