San Lazzaro degli Armeni
This islet lying immediately west of the Lido, completely occupied by a monastery that is the mother-house of the Mekhitarist Order, is one of the world's foremost centres of Armenian culture and is usually described as an Oriental oasis in Venice. George Byron, the romantic poet in love with Venice, here looked for peace and quiet. The small island’s isolation made it an ideal location for the quarantine station and leper colony founded there in the twelfth century, receiving its name from Saint Lazarus patron saint of lepers. San Lazzaro houses a very rich library, as well as a museum with over 4,000 Armenian manuscripts and many Arab, Indian and Egyptian artifacts, including the mummy of Nehmeket. The monastery and its gardens may be reached by public water bus no.20 from San Zaccaria, near Piazza San Marco.

Il Lido è la località balneare meno affollata dell'Alto Adriatico. Se in passato era frequentata dalla nobiltà europea, oggi è l'ideale meta turistica per chi vuole abbinare il turismo culturale a una rilassante vacanza al mare.
