MUSEUM OF MALAMOCCO

The “Palazzo del Podestà” is a building in Venetian Gothic style of the fifteenth located in Piazza Maggiore in Malamocco, opposite the Church of S. Maria Assunta. It was the seat of the mayor of Malamocco who ruled until 1339.Towards the lagoon, the building has a balcony in front of the mullioned window and a relief with lion brand, while the facade facing the church has a triple lancet window and two bas-reliefs on the right a lion carved sixteenth century and left a deer with a shield on his lap cross, the emblem of Malamocco.Today the Palace become the "Permanent Exhibition of Metamauco", an educational activity involving the display of medieval pottery recovered in Malamocco area, photographic panels, explanatory text of the archaeological excavations carried out installation of a workstation computer containing data and descriptions of the history of the island.

MUSEUM OF PELLESTRINA

The Small Museum of the lagoon south Pellestrina, newly created, will give testimony of all those historical and cultural aspects that link the island to the lagoon and the sea. Now is possible to visit only two sections: "History of Murazzi the island and the defenses at sea" and "November 4th, 1966 the great fear."Next projects: "The safeguard measures known and unknown" - "Fishing for sea and lagoon" - "Shipbuilding" - "The lace and his record" - "The dialect: words and voices" - "Sounds, smells and colors: yesterday and today”.
