| | | MUSEUM OF MALAMOCCO The “Palazzo del Podestà” is a building in Venetian Gothic style of the fifteenth located in Piazza Maggiore in Malamocco, opposite the Church of S. Maria Assunta. It was the seat of the mayor of Malamocco who ruled until 1339.Towards the lagoon, the building has a balcony in front of the mullioned window and a relief with lion brand, while the facade facing the church has a triple lancet window and two bas-reliefs on the right a lion carved sixteenth century and left a deer with a shield on his lap cross, the emblem of Malamocco.Today the Palace become the "Permanent Exhibition of Metamauco", an educational activity involving the display of medieval pottery recovered in Malamocco area, photographic panels, explanatory text of the archaeological excavations carried out installation of a workstation computer containing data and descriptions of the history of the island. | | |
